How to Stay Fit with the Jennifer Aniston Diet

It is no secret that Jennifer Aniston is doing something right. At 40 years old, she looks better than most teenage girls!  Although Jenn is pretty private about her life, here are a few weight loss tips about what she does to keep that toned body.

Jennifer Aniston combines yoga and cardio workouts to stay in shape.  These two work outs are a good combo because the cardio burns calories, while yoga tones your muscles.  Jennifer’s routine includes 20 minutes or more of cardio warm up followed by yoga three times a week. She also does high intensity exercise for one minute followed by a two minute “rest” period (that means at a slower rate, not stopping!)For most people, adding exercise is always a good idea. Do keep in mind that Jenn’s yoga sessions are taught by a personal yoga teacher who comes to her home and personalizes her yoga routines. Don’t get discouraged if you cannot afford that, though! Many gyms have cheap yoga classes, or you can buy DVD s or look online for good yoga routines.

Jennifer Aniston’s diet stays faithful to the Zone diet. The Zone diet is not so much a diet as a lifestyle change, although it does lean towards low carbs and high protein.  Choose items like grilled chicken, leafy greens and whole wheats. Following the Zone diet also includes two snacks a day (even if you might not be hungry!) to keep your metabolism high.  No specific foods are banned, just moderation for unhealthy foods and low carbs.  So, portions and moderation are really the key here.

Jenn simply follows a common sense, healthy diets that work with very little junk food. Her work out routine is easy to follow, but before you dive in, here are a few pros and cons to consider about Jennifer Aniston’s routine.

Pros:
The Zone diet is easy to maintain since there are no special foods
Yoga is an easy exercise to start with, especially if you do not currently exercise.
Jenn’s cardio of choice is on a treadmill machine or elliptical, and both machines are at any gym.

Cons:
Most people cannot afford a personal yoga instructor.
Attempting to achieve the look of any celebrity can be frustrating- Just remember they have professional photographer and airbrush, do not try to be something you are not.
Celebrities tend to have access to things that most people don’t. Your goal should be to be healthier.

You do not have to join a fitness club, you can simply commit to walking three or four times a week to start.  As your health gradually improves you can add other activities such as bike riding and/or running.  Maybe take Salsa dance lessons or attend a Yoga class.  Not only will you feel and look better, you will also meet great new people!

The obesity problem in our country is proof that diets do not work.  Do yourself and your body a favor, commit to a healthy lifestyle change.
