Developments in the luggage industry have allowed for a lot of lightweight luggage which gets rid of much of the hardship of carrying bags. The simple addition of wheels to to luggage makes it that much easier to move. Wheels used to stick out so the luggage would often catch on the side of cars in loading. Materials for making luggage have gotten stronger yet lighter over the years. Modern bags are usually more efficient than their older counterparts. You can always look for models that do not have heavy metal zippers or excess compartments you do not need.
Small Bags
Better lightweight bags are as small as possible while still maintaining adequate room for your clothes. Some do this by having an accordion style design. They are also easier to manage for people who like to carry their own luggage.
