Whether you are a fan of cycling or not, there are several advantages to purchasing used ladies bicycles. The first advantages would probably be most obvious. Biking is a very good form of exercise, and getting into it may help you achieve a healthier and more active lifestyle. Biking also helps save the environment, as you will not be using gasoline to travel. Additionally, by specifically using a used bike, you save the environment in another way by reusing resources. Needless to say, these are fairly good advantages to have. The best part is, the considerably cheap price has not even been counted in!
There is another great advantage to buying ladies bicycles. These bikes are especially designed for women, who have very different body shapes from men. Women have shorter torsos, longer legs and shorter arms. If you are a woman and you have tried riding on a regular male bike, you probably realized soon enough that those bikes were not made for you.
Buying used ladies bicycles may take some patience and quite a bit of attention to detail, but your efforts will surely pay off. As with buying any kind of bike, the fit is the top priority. The bike has to be just the right size, neither too big nor too small. Speeds should also be considered. Some people are comfortable with only one speed, others go for as many as 21. It is really only a matter of preference, though, since you are not likely to use all 21 speeds, if you do choose to go that route.
Brakes are also very, very important. The best kinds of brakes are V-brakes, and looking for them will be worth it. You can also go with Center-Pull brakes, which are not as good, but will do the job as well. Side-pull brakes are possibly the worst, and few of the newer bikes have them.
Finally, remember to check for front and rear reflectors, as well as front and rear lights. If the bike of your choice does not have these, you can always buy the spare parts from a shop. Safety, after all, should always be of highest priority.
